The Irish Sea Contractors' team is mobilising for a subsea cable installation project starting this week. Working with McMahon Design Management, the team will lead the pre-laid shore end cable installation of a new telecommunications submarine cable system in the UK and the Netherlands.
Irish Sea Contractors will carry out pre-laid shore end works at both shore landings and the placement of concrete mattresses protecting five assets along the cable route.
Works include pre/post surveys, pre-lay grapnel run (PLGR), cable burial to a depth of 3 m and 1.5 m, and inspection and testing of the cable post burial.
